The Old Wilmington Road Revitalization project is located just southeast of the vibrant city center in Fayetteville, NC. The Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority (FMHA) and TCG United are revitalizing two obsolete public housing communities using a $20 million 2007 HOPE VI Grant. BG was engaged by FMHA to act as its Program Manager to oversee this complex development effort.
Development plans call for the construction of new mixed-income communities for seniors and families on six different sites along with a dynamic homeownership program. Several of the new communities will be located along the new Blount Creek Greenway under development by the City of Fayetteville enabling families to enjoy this new green amenity. A total of 747 units are planned with 522 family units, 120 senior units, and 105 affordable homeownership units that will be located throughout the Old Wilmington Road neighborhood. Impressive leveraging of the $20 million HOPE VI Grant has created a substantial project of over $113 million in downtown Fayetteville.
